Early Childhood Education

The Importance of Early Childhood Education

90% of the brain’s growth occurs before kindergarten, making quality early childhood education critical in establishing the connections a child needs to be successful in school and in life. Guilford Child Development’s Early Childhood Education programs foster at-risk children’s physical, emotional, and mental well-being, prepare them to enter kindergarten on track, promote family engagement, and support families in becoming self-sufficient.

Head Start & early Head Start

Guilford Child Development’s Head Start/Early Head Start program is federally funded, and provides quality preschool education, nutrition and health services at no cost to more than 1,400 children and families in Guilford County.
