School May Be Out, But Free Food for Children is In

When school is in session, the Free and Reduced Lunch program provides a significant number of meals to children in public schools across Guilford County and the nation! Similarly, the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) provides meals to daycare facilities for adults and children in qualified facilities. The Summer Feeding program helps bridge the gap between school years to ensure that children 18 & under have access to healthy, FREE meals over the summer.

GCD’s Catering for Kids (CFK) program hosts a number of sites throughout the community, and is one of the largest non-school authority participants in the Summer Food Program, feeding over 500 children healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks every day.
