NC Pre-K

Guilford Child Development offers the NC Pre-K program, a state funded community based pre-Kindergarten program for four year olds. The program provides children with access to a specific curriculum and preschool experience to prepare them for Kindergarten and future success in school.

Children served by NC Pre-K attend a full school day, full school year program that meets high-quality state standards. Children participating in NC Pre-K may be served in classrooms in the public schools, licensed child care centers, or Head Start programs such as GCD.

The NC Pre-K program enables us to operate all of our four year old classrooms at the highest quality. We operate numerous four year old classrooms which are both Head Start and NC Pre-K.

Our Head Start/NC Pre-K teachers use the Creative Curriculum, a developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum also used by Guilford County Schools and private preschool centers offering the NC Pre-K program.
