Guilford County Schools

Head Start / Early Head Start / NC Pre-K

Head Start/Early Head Start and NC Pre-K

Provides high-quality preschool education to at-risk children (ages 0-5) at 12 five star HS/EHS and NC Pre-K preschool centers located in Greensboro and High Point.
 

Head Start and Early Head Start

GCD's Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS) program is a federally funded holistic child development program that promotes healthy prenatal care for pregnant women, enhances the development of very young children (ages 0 to 5), and promotes healthy family effectiveness.

NC Pre-K

GCD offers the NC Pre-K program, a state funded community based pre-Kindergarten program for four year olds. The program provides children with access to a specific curriculum and preschool experience to prepare them for Kindergarten and future success in school.

Locations

GCD operates 12 Child Development Centers in Guilford County, serving over 1,200 young children and their families.
