Guilford Child Development offers serveral programs that can cover a portion or even ALL of your child care costs.

To learn more about each of our program's services and eligibility requirements, click the program links below or call (336) 369-5097 to speak with one of our Child Care Parent Counselors who will refer you to the program that best meets your child care needs.


  • Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS)
    Provides high-quality preschool education to at-risk children (ages 0-5) at 12 four and five star HS/EHS preschool centers located in Greensboro and High Point. FREE to income eligible families with children 0 to 5 years of age.

  • Regional Child Care Resources and Referral (RCCR&R)
    Offers scholarship assistance through United Way. Child care scholarships can cover up to half of your child care costs if you're a working parent or working college student.

  • Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP)
    Provides nurse-home visitation to low-income first-time moms. 10 weeks after birth, the mother has the option to enroll the child in Early Head Start (see above).

  • Learning Together
    Provides a supportive, comprehensive literacy program for immigrant and minority moms and their preschool-age children as they work to accomplish and sustain their educational and vocational goals. FREE to income eligible families.
